In celebration of the NFL’s 100th season, the league is forgoing its tradition of having the Super Bowl Champion open the season. Instead, we’ll be seeing the league’s oldest and most prolific rivalry open the season on its Thursday night kick-off. Some of Packers QB Aaron Rodgers’ best games have come against the Bears, and the team is also entering the season with a new head coach, Matt Lafleur, for the first time since 2006. Meanwhile, the Bears, who won 12 regular-season games last season, are now the prohibitive divisional favorite.

After a controversial missed pass interference call in January, the New Orleans Saints will finally have a chance to avenge their heartbreaking NFC Championship loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Although it was surprising that the rematch doesn’t get a primetime showcase, at least the teams don’t have to wait long since this much-anticipated matchup is scheduled on Week 2. It is also exciting to know how one of the all-time great quarterbacks Drew Brees play against championship-caliber quarterback Jared Goff. I guess we don’t have to wait long to see how this delicious rematch pan out.

On this game, we’ll see young star quarterback Baker Mayfield and the Browns face the Patriots, a team who has won six Super Bowls since 2001 and has claimed its stake as the best team of the last two decades.

A rematch of Super Bowl LII and a battle of the last two Super Bowl champions, it is not surprising that this game made it to our list. On their championship title game in 2018, the Eagles beat the Patriots. This time around though, both teams look a bit different from how they were last season. The Eagles no longer have Nick Foles to bail them out and hopes QB Carson Wentz remains healthy to be under the center of the team. They will try to outduel Tom Brady and the Patriots offense, which will be without the retired Rob Gronkowski.

Speaking of rematch, here’s another one worth seeing live. All eyes will be on the QBs – Patrick Mahomes, who’s one of the league’s best young quarterbacks, and Tom Brady, who’s perhaps the best of all time. At this point in the season, these teams could be competing for the No. 1 seed in the AFC, which will surely make this game even more crucial and exciting at the same time.
