Baseball fans, rejoice! MLB Opening Day is finally right around the corner.
Seems like it was only yesterday when the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Dodgers put the finishing touches on an instant classic of a World Series. Now here we are, just a few days before another Opening Day.
The 2019 Major League Baseball gets under way March 20th with the 2019 Japan Opening Series. This two-day event will feature the Oakland Athletics hosting the Seattle Mariners at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan. Eight days later, the official Opening Day will kick off with 30 MLB teams and millions of fans around the world.

When is MLB Opening Day 2019?
The baseball season will kick of earlier than usual this year, as all 30 teams will be in action on Thursday, March 28. This upcoming season will mark the second straight year every team will be playing on Opening Day.
The scheduling format, which extends the season length by one weekend of play gives each Club three to four additional days throughout the season. This will enable added rest for athletes and opportunities for rescheduling.
As a result, the March 28th start date to the 2019 regular season will mark the earliest Opening Day in Major League history. This excludes special season-openers at international venues.

This year, we’ll get a chance to watch familiar faces play for their new teams on Opening Day. Manny Machado, who broke contract records when he signed with his new team, will be joining the Padres under a 10-year, $300 million dollar agreement. Sames goes for Bryce Harper, who decided to join the Phillies for $330 million dollars in 13 years.
Aside from these two, MLB fans are also looking forward to see Josh Donaldson (Braves), A.J. Pollock (Twins), and Andrew McCutcher (Phillies) suited up with their new teams.
