MOULIN ROUGE! THE MUSICAL
La Belle Epoque is coming to Broadway.
Eighteen years later, the hit film Moulin Rouge! is finally hitting the Great White Way. Eagerly anticipated by fans, the musical had a record-breaking Boston tryout engagement last year. This summer, the revolutionary Baz Luhrmann movie is coming to life onstage, remixed in a new musical mash-up extravaganza. As with the film, the show will focus on a love story between an writer and a courtesan who meets in Paris’s cabarets and dance halls. Previews will begin on June 28th at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre before its July 25 opening night.
BE MORE CHILL
Based on the acclaimed 2004 novel by Ned Vizzini, Be More Chill is about a nothing-special teenager at Middleborough High in nothing-special New Jersey. That’s until he finds out about a tiny supercomputer that promises to bring him everything he wants.
Even before arriving in New York, the musical had already amassed an unprecedented following across various online platforms. Following a sold-out run off-Broadway last summer, Be More Chill will begin performances on Broadway at the Lyceum Theatre on February 13th.

THE PROM
There’s no business like getting in other people’s business. That’s at least for four Broadway stars who decide to help a small-town lesbian teen who wants to take her girlfriend to the prom. From the geniuses behind The Book of Mormon, Aladdin and Mean Girls, this 3-month old musical comedy was a sure hit from the start. The Prom production is now ongoing at the iconic Longacre Theatre, New York.
Another musical comedy on the lips of theater fans is Tootsie, a show based on the 1982 Sydney Pollack film of the same name. The musical is about a male actor who pretends to be a woman to get a gig, showing a nearly full-on satirical take on the narcissistic male ego. Tootsie – The Musical previews begin on March 29th at the Marquis Theatre in New York City
