The soundtrack contains 18 ABBA songs, all of which are covered by the movie’s various actors. And fans are absolutely loving it. ABBA sales are up by 57% as the album hits 19,000 equivalent album units last week. Additionally, ABBA’s best-of album, Gold has also received quite the boost. ABBA Reunites And Records Two New Songs
We still have some awesome news for you. The band ABBA left fans in shock (albeit a good one) when they announced that they have not one, but two new songs to release this year. This was announced 18 months after they confirmed their upcoming 2019 virtual reality tour.
In a joint statement, the group shared the experience of being back in the studio together as a whole group again.
“We all four felt that, after some 35 years, it could be fun to join forces again and go into the recording studio. So we did.”
The new music will be released by December of 2018. Furthermore, the upcoming virtual reality tour is well in the works. Singer Bjorn Ulvaeus, 72, revealed that virtual “Abbatars” are being created as a representation of the four members for the upcoming digital tour, which is expected for 2019 or 2020.
