In fact, the music festival has become so popular that they’ve expanded to international locations including Paris, London, and Johannesburg.

This year, Afropunk’s theme is The People Resist, that wants to “bring together AFROPUNK ideology and the people who support it, in resistance to those that strive to oppress.” Headlining this year’s edition are Janelle Monae, Erykah Badu, and Tyler The Creator. The stellar lineup also includes popular acts like H.E.R., Miguel, Daniel Caesar and Jaden and Willow Smith.
