NBA Skills Challenge

Date: Saturday, Feb. 16
Time: 8 p.m. ET (First event)
Location: Spectrum Center — Charlotte, North Carolina

Kicking off one of the biggest nights of the NBA calendar is the Skills Challenge. The event doesn’t receive as much hype as the two other games for the day, but that may change this Saturday. This is all thanks to a star-studded mix of All-Star bigs and top rookie performers on the field this year. First-time NBA All-Stars Nikola Jokic as well as Nikola Vucevic, Luka Doncic and Trae Young, among others, are set to display their vast array of talents, including pinpoint passing and 3-point shooting.

NBA Three-Point Contest

Date: Saturday, Feb. 16
Time: 8 p.m. ET (Second event)
Location: Spectrum Center — Charlotte, North Carolina

After the Skills Challenge, the Saturday night action continues to the Three-Point Contest. As it was in the past, there will be five racks of five balls set up around the 3-point line, and the shooters will have one minute to make as many shots as they can. On this year’s edition though, the field will be expanded to 10 shooters. Ranked as the third-leading three-point shooter in the history of the NBA, expect Stephen Curry to put on a show in the contest. However, it will be anything but a sweep for him with other elite shooters like Devin Booker and Seth Curry also trying to win the crown.

NBA Slam Dunk Contest

Date: Saturday, Feb. 16
Time: 8 p.m. ET (Third event)
Location: Spectrum Center — Charlotte, North Carolina

Completing the Saturday night festivities is the evening’s premier event: the Slam Dunk Contest. Four of the game’s high flyers – OKC’s Hamidou Diallo, Charlotte’s Miles Bridges, Atlanta’s John Collins, and New York’s Dennis Smith Jr. will take the center stage this time. Just like the Three-Point Contest, this is a two-round event. Each competitor will complete two dunks, and the two players with the highest composite scores will move on to the championship round, where they will once again get two dunks.

NBA All-Star Game

Date: Sunday, Feb. 17
Time: 8 p.m. ET
Location: Spectrum Center — Charlotte, North Carolina

Closing out the weekend is probably what all basketball fans have been waiting for: the actual All-Star Game itself. For the second straight year, the two teams were selected using a playground-style draft. These two teams are led by top vote-getters LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo as captains instead of the old East vs. West matchup. Team LeBron is stacked with the likes of Kevin Durant, James Harden, Klay Thompson, Anthony Davis and Kyrie Irving if he is well enough to play. Meanwhile, Team Giannis includes Steph Curry, Paul George, Kemba Walker and Joel Embiid. The total for the game is set at 316 points after last year’s game went under 300 in a 148-145 victory for Team LeBron over Team Stephen (Curry).
