2018 NFL Week 11 Predictions

NFL Week 11 Fearless Forecast: The Hot Sheet

Buckle up! We’re down to NFL Week 11 and with 6 teams no longer in action, the heat is turning up even more. Read ahead for our fearless takes on this week’s games.

It’s going to be yet another mega bye week with 6 teams not in action, which leaves us with only 13 games on the schedule. Here we are, almost at the pinnacle of yet another epic season. But how exactly are things shaping up? For starters, we have the Patriots which is the only good team among those with bye weeks. This means that all of the double-digit point spreads that have ruled previous weeks are long gone. Which literally means that it’s anyone game now. Predictions are even harder to make, especially a lot of tough toss-up games. Nevertheless, we’ve prepared our take on a fearless forecast on NFL Week 11. Let’s take a look at who’s looking hot on the field right now.

Green Bay Packers (4-4-1) at Seattle Seahawks (4-5)

For Thursday night’s football, we’re seeing the Packers smack in the middle of the playoff race and the NFC North battle. The Seahawks, meanwhile, will be fighting for a wild-card berth. This seems like an uphill for them after such close-call, last-possession losses to the two LA teams for the past two weeks. Nevertheless, it’s going to be fun watching elite quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson butting heads. Green Bay’s Aaron Jones and Seattle’s fill-in duo of Mike Davis and Rashaad Penny will most likely see some success. Ultimately, it will come down to which quarterback will get better protection. But with Wilson’s edge at home and his running prowess, this game will likely lean in the Seahawks way.

Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Rams (-2.5): Game Of The Week

Monday 8:15 p.m., ESPN

This game is the talk of the town. And no wonder. The Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Rams are straight-up picks. However, it needs to be pointed out that the over/under is 62 points. And we’re betting the over on this game. The Chiefs may be 6-0 against the Rams over the years. But don’t let history lull you into complacency. Both looked unbeatable last September, so how will they match up against each other?  Kareem Hunt and Todd Gurley will probably battle it out in epic proportions, creating a backfield wash. Additionally, Mahomes is looking to be the better-strong-armed athlete and has more big-play targets, with the help of Tyreek Hill. So truly, it will come down to which defense can be trusted more, for the whole game or for any given make-or-break play.

Minnesota Vikings (5-3-1) at Chicago Bears (6-3): NFC Game of the Week

Sunday, 8:20 p.m., NBC

Who wouldn’t love this game? It’s setting up to be a taste of some good ole’ fashioned, rock-em-sock-em. And the winner is set to get the lead in the NFC North with six weeks to play. Kirk Cousins and Mitchell Trubisky have both been airing it out most weeks, so it’s bound to be brutal. The Bears can beat up bad teams, especially playing inside the safe corners of the Solider Field.  They just have to avoid being overly pass-reliant with Mitchell Trubisky. The Vikings’ defense might be the game-changer. Everson Griffen is back and before their bye, managed 10 sacks and gave up just 209 yards to the Lions. And that will make a big difference.

Philadelphia Eagles (4-5) at New Orleans Saints (8-1)

Sunday, 4:25 p.m., Fox

Last week was not the best showcase from the Eagles. Their secondary is a mess, as evidenced by Ezekiel Elliott performance last week. Both things can prove catastrophic ahead of a game against Drew Brees, Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara, and Mark Ingram. But perhaps there might still be a chance. If they can run Golden Tate better this week and the rest of the season, there can be hope yet. On the other hand, the Saints can just as well stop the run, contain Zach Ertz and get after Carson Wentz, as Philadelphia lacks the speedy deep threat needed to burn New Orleans’ secondary. Suffice it to say, this can very well be a lock. The Saints are very likely to win against a team that has been struggling to make things click the same way they did last year.

Prediction: Rams and Chiefs can each break 40 points.

The change of field of play may have been disappointing to many, especially since this game is the talk of the town. However, the decision to move this game back to Los Angeles was the right call. Especially when looking at how awful those field conditions were going to be. We’re all waiting to see if this could early Super Bowl preview. But the hype is certainly understandable. And seeing how this season has been for both the Rams and Chiefs so far, it’s not at all ridiculous to predict 40+ points from each team.

Prediction: Mahomes tosses six touchdown passes.

Let’s talk about this spectacular quarterback of the season. Mahomes might just knock out Todd Gurley for the running for the MVP award. Especially when looking at the number the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is putting together. Mahomes boasts 31 touchdown passes to his name before Monday’s meeting with the Los Angeles Rams. Truthfully, Kansas City will need another strong performance from their quarterback just to have a fighting chance. And with Los Angeles’ struggles surrounding their defense over the last few months, Mahomes could be a very real threat. We’re predicting Mahomes will make six touchdown passes. After all, if he managed to hit it back in Week 2, why not again?

Prediction: Gurley will extend touchdown streak to 14 games.

Yes, we’re saying it. The tides have certainly changed for Todd Gurley’s fans. At the beginning of last season, we were all ready to give up on Todd Gurley after his failure to record a single 100-yard rushing game back in 2016. But look at him now. He’s helped Los Angeles jump out to a 9-1 start. Additionally, his numbers are nothing less but stellar. It’s not an unfair assessment to predict that Gurley will find the end zone 14 games in a row. We’re calling in this streak early.
